Fault Code Deactivation
Software that permanently disables unnecessary fault codes in the ECU for removed or unused systems.
Software that lets the ECU run on its calculated air model instead of a faulty or problematic MAF (mass air flow) sensor.
About the service
The MAF sensor (air mass meter) measures the mass of air entering the engine; the ECU calculates fuel quantity, boost pressure and EGR control from this data. A dirty or faulty air mass meter causes power loss, black smoke, a rough idle, limp mode and air mass fault codes.
With MAF delete software, the ECU is recalibrated to run on an air model calculated from data such as intake manifold pressure, intake air temperature and engine RPM instead of the air mass meter signal. This solution is especially popular on diesel cars with an EGR delete and in cases of recurring air mass meter failures. For large-diameter intake setups, rescaling (calibrating) the sensor in the software without deleting it is also an option.
On most cars, a healthy air mass meter provides the most accurate air measurement, so we don’t recommend a MAF delete for every car. We first check with diagnostics whether the sensor is really faulty and decide together on the best solution for your car. The original software is kept and can be restored on request.
Benefits
Process
Step 01
Air mass meter and air mass values are examined with diagnostics and live data.
Step 02
The original software is backed up.
Step 03
The ECU is recalibrated to the calculated air model, or the MAF is rescaled.
Step 04
Fueling, smoke and boost values are verified with a road test and datalog.

Usually not. With an intake kit designed for the specific vehicle, the air flow meter stays in the right position and at the right diameter, so measurement remains accurate. Where the diameter changes, the software can be rescaled instead of deleting the sensor.
It’s possible on some petrol cars, but not every ECU is suited to it. We assess suitability based on the engine and ECU type; on most petrol cars, running with a healthy air flow meter gives a better result.
Compatibility
Availability depends on the car’s ECU type, engine and hardware. In our vehicle database, this option is listed for the number of engines below; you can check by selecting your own car.
